After a couple days of scans and appointments, we came home from Cincinnati with a reality check. We definitely have reasons to celebrate. The improvement in Katie's lungs is incredible. The radiation in conjunction with the Keytruda has done an amazing job of clearing out the numerous nodules invading her lung space. For that we are so grateful. This has allowed Kate to be home, walking, laughing, keeping up with physical therapy and experiencing no visible symptoms.
The scans also reminded us that Katie's cancer is very aggressive. It has not backed down or submitted yet. Outside of the lungs, there is still very strong evidence of the Hodgkins. The next step will be to add another agent to be taken at home which may augment the immunotherapy. We also plan to go back to the proton radiation (the more precise radiation which was postponed previously) in the next few weeks. In the meantime, Katie will be enjoying the last couple weeks of summer before starting her freshman year at Winfield High School. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. . . So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:8-9, 18) We don't know about tomorrow, but today can still be a good day. We continue to pray for complete healing for Katie. Blessings, Sarah and Chad and the rest of Cobb 7

You don't know me, but I guess we have mutual friends through Facebook, but wanted you to know I'm praying for you and will continue to pray Kati and the whole Cobb family! Our God is awesome and His ways are the best we know, but that precious girl was given to you by our great God, who has a plan. Could be to show the world your faith, only He knows. I relate to you as a mother and send you hugs and pray for your strength! God bless you and love from my family!! We have purple Katie tshirts here in my house in Hurricane!!! 💜

God has reasons that all of this is unfolding as it is. It's so difficult to wrap our human minds around this troubling season for Katie and the Cobb family. But thank God for our salvation through His son Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. We know what an awesome God we serve and at some point God will be glorified in this, as we expect, pray for, claim and ask God for a complete healing for Katie! Amen 🙏 ✝️🙏✝️⛪️

You don't know me. I stood behind you and your family in line for the Merry-go-round on your Kings Island trip. Katie was one horse in front of me. Her smile caught my attention. I saw how she looked at her family, her smile so big and I was in awe. When we got off the ride I told my husband I would never forget her smile. On the 2 hour ride home I googled "no one fights alone" from the shirts you were wearing. She and your family have not left my prayers since the moment I saw her. Such a beautiful young lady and her spirit radiates. God bless you all. Keep up the fight precious girl.
